# AI chat that searches the web and shows sources

By the SelGPT team. Updated October 1, 2026. Source: https://selgpt.app/ai-web-search

Ask about something that happened today, a price, or the latest version of a tool. SelGPT searches the web when it needs to and lists the sources under its answer.

> Every SelGPT model can search the web. When a question depends on recent information, such as news, prices or software versions, the model searches, reads the results and answers with the sources listed so you can check them. SelGPT also knows today’s date, so answers about recent events are current.

## When it searches

- News and recent events.
- Prices, schedules and anything that changes often.
- The current documentation for a library or product.
- Facts it should not answer from memory alone.
